Derin ekoloji hareketi kimi çalışmalarda insan merkezci, kimi çalışmalarda ise çevre merkezci çevre etiği içerisinde incelenmektedir. Bu bağlamda derin ekoloji, insan merkezci ve çevre merkezci çevre etikleri açısından, kavramı bulan ve geliştiren Arne Naess’ın görüşleri çerçevesinde incelenmiştir. Derin ekolojinin temel unsurlarından biri hak kavramıdır. Arne Naess yaşamsal gereksinimler ve haklar arasındaki ilişkiye dikkat çekmektedir. Canlıların yaşama hakkı üzerinde durmakta, eşit yaşam ve gelişme hakkının nihai normlar olduğunu savunmaktadır. Ayrıca derin ekoloji platformunun hak kavramıyla ilgili iki ilkesi mevcuttur. Çalışmanın sonucunda Naess’ın hak kavramını karmaşık bir kavram olarak görmekte olduğu anlaşılmıştır. Çalışma derin ekolojinin nasıl bir hak yaklaşımı benimsediğini analiz ederek ortaya koymuştur. Derin ekoloji hareketinin benimsediği hak yaklaşımının ise hem insan merkezciliğin hem de çevre merkezciliğin özelliklerini kısmen barındırmakta olduğu, ancak çevre merkezciliğin özelliklerinin daha ağır basmakta olduğu tespit edilmiştir
Some studies examine deep ecology movement in the anthropocentric environmental ethics, while others do it in the ecocentric environmental ethics. In this context, deep ecology has been studied in terms of anthropocentric and environmental ethics approaches within the framework of views of Arne Naess, who coined and developed the concept. One of the fundamental elements of deep ecology is the concept of rights. Arne Naess draws attention to the relationship between the necessities of life and rights. He emphasizes living things' right to life and argues that right to equal living and right to development are the final norms. In addition, the concept of deep ecology platform has two principles on the concept of rights. It has been understood as a result of the study that Naess sees the concept of rights as a complex concept. The study has analysed and revealed what kind of rights approach deep ecology adopts. It has been found that the rights approach adopted by the deep ecology movement contains properties of both anthropocentrism and ecocentrism but the properties of ecocentrism weighs heavily
