Gelişmiş ve Gelişmekte Olan Ülkelerde Kamu Kesimi Büyüklüğü, Kurumsal Kalite ve Ekonomik Büyüme İlişkisi
Abstract
2007-2008 küresel ekonomik krizinden sonra devletin ekonomik hayattaki rolü ve kurumların kalitesi tekrar temel tartışma konularından biri haline gelmiştir. Çalışmada, kamu kesimi büyüklüğü ve kurumsal kalitenin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkileri gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan ülkeler için panel veri analiz yöntemi kullanılarak test edilmiştir. Ampirik analizler sonucu elde edilen bulgulara göre, kamu kesimi büyüklüğü hem gelişmiş hem de gelişmekte olan ülkelerde ekonomik büyümeyi olumsuz etkilemektedir. Kurumsal kalitenin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkileri ise kullanılan kurumsal gösterge ve ülke grubuna göre farklılaşmakla birlikte kurumsal kalitenin ülkelerin ekonomik büyümesinde önemli rol oynadığı söylenebilir
The Relationships between Government Size, Institutional Quality and Economic Growth in Developed and Developing Countries
Abstract
The role of states in economic life and the quality of institutions have become one of the basic questions of debate after the global economic crisis in 2007. In the study, the effects of government size and institutional quality on economic growth are tested with panel data analysis for both developed and developing countries. According to findings obtained via empiric analyses, government size has a negative impact on economic growth in both developing and developed countries. The effects of institutional quality on the other hand differentiate regarding intuitional indicator and country group though it is asserted that instructional quality plays an important role in economic growth
