Organizational Silence in Ground Handling Companies: Its Effect on Organizational Commitment and Organizational Trust

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of organizational silence attitudes of employees in ground handling companies, which is one of the important components of the air transport sector, on organizational commitment and organizational trust. The data of the research were collected through questionnaires from the employees of ground handling companies at airports with an annual passenger capacity of 1-5 million. The analysis of the research was carried out on 334 returned and usable questionnaires. In the research, simple linear regression analysis was conducted to examine the relationships between organizational silence behavior, organizational trust and organizational commitment. As a result of the analysis of the data, it was revealed that there is a negative and significant relationship between organizational silence and organizational commitment. In addition, organizational silence was found to have a negative and significant relationship on affective commitment and normative commitment. Similarly, a negative and significant relationship was found between organizational silence and organizational trust. In addition, it has been revealed that organizational silence has a negative and significant effect on trust in the manager and trust in the organization.

Yer Hizmeti İşletmelerinde Örgütsel Sessizlik: Örgütsel Bağlılık ve Örgütsel Güven Üzerindeki Etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı hava taşımacılığı sektörünün önemli bileşenlerinden biri olan yer hizmeti işletmelerinde çalışanların örgütsel sessizlik davranışlarının örgütsel bağlılık ve örgütsel güven üzerindeki etkilerinin araştırılmasıdır. Araştırmanın verileri yıllık yolcu kapasitesi 1-5 milyon arasında olan havalimanlarındaki yer hizmeti işletmelerinde çalışanlardan internet üzerinden anketler aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın analizleri, geri dönüşü sağlanan ve kullanılabilir durumunda olan 334 anket üzerinden gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmada örgütsel sessizlik davranışı ile örgütsel güven ve örgütsel bağlılık arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenebilmesi amacıyla basit doğrusal regresyon analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin analizi sonucunda örgütsel sessizlik ile örgütsel bağlılık arasında negatif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu, ayrıca örgütsel sessizlik ile örgütsel bağlılığın alt boyutlarından duygusal bağlılık ile normatif bağlılık arasında negatif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu bulunmuştur. Örgütsel sessizlik ile örgütsel güven arasında da negatif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişki bulunurken, örgütsel sessizlik ile örgütsel güvenin alt boyutlarından yöneticiye güven ve örgüte güven boyutları arasında negatif yönlü ve anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu ortaya çıkarılmıştır.
