The similarity rate control of the candidate articles sent to the International Journal of Düzce Educational Sciences is done with the Ithenticate and Turnitin software program. Authors have to upload the similarity rate file. Articles with a similarity rate of more than 20%, excluding references, are returned to the authors. The corresponding author must also upload the similarity rate statement file and declare that the candidate article does not have any plagiarism problems. Thus, it is ensured that all responsibility is on the authors in case of plagiarism problems.
International Journal of Düzce Educational Sciences is based on the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors. It rejects and does not accept all plagiarism and other unethical behaviors. For this reason, the journal policy of plagiarism behaviors, that is, the COPE Code of Conduct for Journal Editors, cannot be bent. If plagiarism and unethical behaviors, which are the responsibility of the authors, are detected by the journal, the candidate articles are either rejected or returned to the author for editing. If plagiarism or unethical behavior is detected in published articles, author defense is requested for the relevant publication. The publications that are detected to have plagiarism or ethical violations as a result of the author's defense are withdrawn. As a result of the withdrawal process, the relevant publication tag is officially announced by the journal. The editor-in-chief and assistant editors prepare a justification for the article, and the withdrawal procedure is applied to the article with ethical violation. The text file on the web page of a withdrawn article is blocked. The reason for the withdrawal is added to the system as a file so that it remains in the archive permanently.
Plagiarism Detection Process:
Every article submitted to our journal is subject to similarity control by the editorial board through intihal.net.
The similarity rate, excluding references, should be no more than 20%. Articles with a similarity rate above 20% are returned to the author without being sent for peer review.
The maximum percentage of citations from a single source is set at 3%.
Even if the overall similarity rate is low, if any section of the article contains a significant amount of block citations, the work is returned to the author.
Editors check the similarity rate at the beginning and end of the peer review process.
Author Responsibilities:
It is the authors' responsibility to verify the originality of the submitted articles.
If necessary, the editorial team may request a plagiarism detection software report from the authors.
Authors are obliged to correctly cite all sources used in their work.
Sanctions:
Articles found to contain plagiarism are removed from the publication process.
In cases of repeated violations, authors may be barred from submitting articles to our journal for a certain period of time.
Serious cases of plagiarism may be reported to the author's institution and relevant academic organisations.
Our journal strictly enforces this policy to ensure the reliability of academic work.
