All submissions must include a ‘Data availability’ statement. Here ‘data’ refers to any materials or information that underpin a body of research, whether generated or analysed by the authors. ‘Data’ can be quantitative (e.g., numerical) or qualitative (e.g., interview transcripts, images etc). If no data were generated or analysed then this must be stated in the paper. A data availability statement should explain how the data underpinning the results in your paper can be accessed. Where data are deposited in a repository, provide hyperlinks and persistent identifiers, such as a DOI or accession number, wherever possible. If the data cannot be shared openly—for example, to protect participant privacy—this limitation should be clearly stated and justified. The statement should cover both original data generated by your research and any reused secondary data that support your results and analyses.
