                                                                                                <abstract><p>Roman everyday objects wereoften decorated with motives of the aquatic environment. Very interesting groupof such a artifacts are roman oil lamps found in the Roman provinces GermaniaSuperior and Germania Inferior. They are characterized by repetition oficonographic themes connected to river or sea navigation. This paper deals withan attempt of interpretation connection between oil lamps and theirdecorations.</p></abstract>
