There has been no sufficient scientific evaluation on this area of investment concerning important institutions and organizations such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Department of Finance and Turkish Industry and Business Association. Furthermore, various meanings are attributed to terms in official documents regarding scientific studies in the related Turkish literature and thus, there is no consensus on the terms used. This study aims to identify health tourism by compiling basic data about health tourism, summarize perception of health tourism in the literature and regulations of Turkey, clarify the terms that are widely used and produce information for managers at different levels.</p>
