Abstract
The emerging global pandemics pose high risks for individuals and communities. Nurses
play a crucial role in preparing and delivering healthcare services for the management
and mitigation of infectious diseases such as COVID-19, which is considered the third
leading cause of death worldwide. In COVID-19 patients, the treatment of other organ failure along with lung-focused damage has significantly increased the requirements for intensive care units and intensive care nurses. Therefore, intensive care nurses have undertaken very important roles by heroically fighting during the COVID-19 pandemic process. In this review, it is aimed to explain the roles of the intensive care nurse in the pandemic process.
