Tarihsel Süreç İçerisinde Çevre Hareketlerinde Ortaya Çıkan Farklılıklar Üzerine Bir İncelenme

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı toplumsal hareketler arasında değerlendirilen çevre hareketlerinin temel özellikleri ve düşünsel açıdan geçirmiş olduğu değişimi değerlendirmektir. Belirgin ve ortak özellikleri ile diğer toplumsal hareketlerden ayrılan çevre hareketleri siyasi, iktisadi ve kültürel yapıda yaşanan değişimle birlikte dönemsel olarak gelişim göstermiştir. Bu süreçte çevre hareketleri endüstrileşmeden küreselleşmeye, modern toplumdan modern sonrası toplumsal yapıya, yerelden küresel ölçeğe kadar yaşanan toplumsal hoşnutsuzlukların yansıması olarak geniş bir repertuara sahip olmuştur. Siyasal, ekonomik ve toplumsal yapıda meydana gelen tarihsel ve mekânsal farklılaşmanın çevre hareketlerinde meydana getirdiği etkiler ve gelecekteki durumu ayrı bir çalışma ile değerlendirilmelidir. Çevre hareketleri ve temel özellikleri hakkında evrensel ilkeler belirlemek ve genelleme yapmak zor olsa da çalışmada çevre harekelerinin geçirmiş olduğu dönemsel farklılaşma sadece benimsenen değerler, örgütsel yapı, ilkeler ve eylem biçimleri bakımından ele alınmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda çevre hareketlerinin dönemsel olarak farklılaştığı, ulusal sınırlar dışına taşarak küresel ölçekte etkin olabilme özelliği gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Bilim, teknoloji ve iletişim tekniklerinde yaşanan gelişmeler sayesinde yerel ve münferit özellik gösteren çevre hareketleri, küresel enformasyon ağ ile eklemlenebilme, destek alma ve geniş kitlelere hitap edebilme imkânı yakalamıştır.

A Review of The Differences in Environmental Movements Within Historical Process

Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the basic characteristics of environmental movements which are considered among the social movements, and the transformation they have undergone in terms of intellectual aspects. Environmental movements, which differ from other social movements with their distinctive and common features, have developed periodically with the change in political, economic, and cultural structure. In this respect, environmental movements have a wide repertoire as a reflection of social discontent from industrialization to globalization, from modern society to post-modern social structure, from local to global scale. It is necessary to evaluate the effects of change imposed by political, economic, and social structures on historical and spatial deviations of the environmental movements and their future. As a result of the study, it is concluded that today's environmental movements periodically differentiates include characteristics and tend to be effective on a global scale by taking beyond national borders. With the advent of developments in science, technology, and communication techniques, local and discrete environmental movements have gained the opportunity to articulate with the global information network and appeal to large audiences.
