Çocukların Sosyal Medya Kullanım Durumları ve Sosyal Medyanın Çocukların Duygu Durumları Üzerine Etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırma 9-15 yaş arasında bulunan gençlerin sosyal medya kullanım durumları ile sosyal medyanın gençlerin duygu durumları üzerinde etkisi olup olmadığını belirleyebilmek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma tasarlanırken nicel araştırma yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini 9-15 yaş arası gençler oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem grubunu 520 genç oluşturmaktadır. Kullanılan veri toplama araçları anket formu ve PANAS ölçeğidir. Anket formu bulguları için betimsel istatistik yönteminden yararlanılmış olup, yüzde ve frekans değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Gençlerin kullandıkları sosyal medya hesapları ile duygu durumları arasında ilişki olup olmadığını belirleyebilmek için Pearson korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmada; gençlerin en fazla kullanmayı tercih ettikleri dijital medya aracının cep telefonu olduğu, dijital medya araçlarını en fazla fotoğraf paylaşmak ve oyun oynamak için kullandıkları, sosyal medyada en çok arkadaşları ile vakit geçirmeyi tercih ettikleri, sosyal ortamda bir sorun yaşandıklarında bazen arkadaşlarından yardım isteyebilecekleri, çoğunlukla sosyal ortamda zorbalık yaptığını düşündükleri arkadaşlarının olmadığı ve sosyal ortamda zorbalığa uğradıkları zaman çoğunlukla anne/baba ile paylaşıp yardım isteyebilecekleri sonuçları elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca; gençlerin Facebook kullanım durumları ile PANAS Ölçeği sonuçları arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmazken, Instagram kullanım durumları ile PANAS Ölçeği sonuçları arasında negatif yönde ve anlamlı bir korelasyon bulunmuştur.
