THE ROLE OF CIRCUMFERENTIAL MEASUREMENT OF SOME VALUES IN DETERMINING ANAEROBIC PERFORMANCE AND STRENGTH VALUES IN JUNIOR FEMALE BASKETBALL TURKISH NATIONAL TEAM PLAYERS

Abstract


The purpose of the present study was to determination of the circumferential measurement of some values in determining role of anaerobic performance and strength values in junior female basketball Turkish national team players. A total of 14 basketball players ( X age: 18.78±0.41year) from National Team of Turkey participated in this study voluntarily. Subjects’ height, body weight, body mass index and body fat percentage were determined. Body fat percentage was determined by Yuhasz formula. Vertical jump was used for determination of anaerobic performance (AP) and isometric dynamometer was used for the determination of knee (KS), back strength (BS). Circumferential measurement were used for the determination of thigh girth (TG), calf girth (CG) and circumferential measurement were used for the determination of leg volume (LV), thigh volume (TV) and calf volume (CV) by Frustum Method. According to the results of Stepwise Multiple Regression Analyses, AP were significantly correlated with LV, TV, CV, TG and CG (R=0.73, p=.005). LV, TV, CV, TG and CG predicted %54,4 of the AP. However KS were significantly correlated with LV, TV, CV, TG and CG (R=0.49, p=.005). LV, TV, CV, TG and CG predicted %24.9 of the KS and also BS were significantly correlated with LV, TV, CV, TG and CG (R=0.81, p=.005). LV, TV, CV, TG and CG predicted %67.1 of the BS. As a conclusion, the results of the present study indicated that LV, TV, CV, TG and CG were important factors in determining AP, KS and BS.

YILDIZ BASKETBOL MİLLİ TAKIMINDA YER ALAN KIZ SPORCULARIN ANAEROBİK PERFORMANS VE KUVVET DEĞERLERİNİN BELİRLENMESİNDE ÇEVRESEL ÖLÇÜMLERDEN ELDE EDİLEN BAZI DEĞERLERİN ROLÜ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Yıldız Basketbol Milli takımında yer alan kız sporcuların anaerobik performans ve kuvvet değerlerinin belirlenmesinde çevresel ölçümlerden elde edilen bazı değerlerin rolünün belirlenmesidir. Çalışmaya farklı kulüplerde basketbol branşıyla uğraşan toplam 14 ( X yaş: 18.78±0.41yıl) gönüllü genç kız milli sporcu katılmıştır. Çalışmaya katılan deneklerin boy uzunluğu, vücut ağırlığı, vücut yağ yüzdesi, vücut kütle indeksi ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Vücut yağ yüzdesi Yuhasz formülü ile hesaplanmıştır. Anaerobik performans (AP) belirlenmesinde dikey sıçrama testi kullanılırken bacak (BK) ve sırt (SK) kuvveti belirlemesinde ise İzometrik bacak-sırt kuvveti dinamometresi kullanılmıştır. Deneklerin bacak hacmi (BH), uyluk hacmi(UH), baldır hacmi (BLH) Frustum çevresel ölçüm yöntemi ile belirlenirken, uyluk (UÇ) ve baldır çevre (BÇ) ölçümleri de yapılmıştır.Yapılan Stepwise Regresyon analizi sonuçları AP ile BH, UH, BLH, UÇ ve BÇ (R=0.73, p=.005) arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğunu gösterirken, BH, UH, BLH, UÇ ve BÇ anaerobik performansın %54,4’ünü belirlemektedir. Ayrıca BK ile BH, UH, BLH, UÇ ve BÇ (R=0.49, p=.005) arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğunu gösterirken, BH, UH, BLH, UÇ ve BÇ bacak kuvvetinin %24,9’unu belirlemektedir. Yine SK ile BH, UH, BLH, UÇ ve BÇ (R=0.81, p=.005) arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğunu gösterirken, BH, UH, BLH, UÇ ve BÇ sırt kuvvetinin %67,1’ini belirlediği bulunmuştur. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları BH, UH, BLH, UÇ ve BÇ değerleri AP, BK ve SK belirlenmesinde önemli faktörlerdendir.
