                            <p>The primary aim of this study is to emphasise the importance of approaching crises in educational institutions from a social-emotional perspective. A detailed literature review revealed that there is no observed approach to crisis management from a social-emotional perspective in Turkish sources. The limited research conducted generally focuses on the emotional intelligence of leaders. In the foreign literature, there are also only a few sources on the subject. Therefore, this study aims to fill the gap in the field and develop a social-emotional approach to crisis management. This qualitative case study describes the process involving a teacher who is a father of two disabled children, and later, one of these children becoming a teacher. Through these case examples, the study highlights how school administrators either made the already difficult lives of these individuals even harder during school crises or how education leaders who understood them emotionally made the process easier. This case study examines incidents between school administrators and teachers in a small province in Turkey. A qualitative case study design was employed, and data collected through unstructured interviews were supported by the literature. This case study was conducted to help reshape school administrators&#039; understanding of crisis management. The crises in the examples discussed in this study were either resolved through education leaders&#039; social-emotional approaches or remained unresolved when such an approach was not developed.</p></trans-abstract>
                                                                                                                                    <abstract><p>Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, eğitim kurumlarında meydana gelen krizlere sosyal-duygusal açıdan yaklaşmanın önemini vurgulamaktır. Ayrıntılı literatür araştırması sonucunda Türkçe kaynaklarda kriz yönetimine sosyal-duygusal açıdan bir yaklaşım gözlenmemiştir. Yapılan kısıtlı sayıda araştırmada genellikle liderlerin duygusal zekâsına vurgu yapılmıştır. Yabancı literatürde ise, konu üzerine sınırlı sayıda kaynak mevcuttur. Bu sebeple, alandaki boşluğu doldurmak ve kriz yönetimine sosyal- duygusal açıdan bir yaklaşım geliştirmek amaçlanmıştır. Bu nitel vaka çalışmasında, iki engelli çocuğa sahip bir öğretmen baba ve daha sonrasında engelli çocuğunun birisinin öğretmen olması ile gelişen süreç anlatılmaktadır. Örnek olaylar üzerinden okuldaki krizler süresince hâlihazırda zor olan hayatlarını okul yöneticilerinin nasıl daha zor bir hale getirdikleri ya da onları duygusal açıdan anlayan eğitim liderlerinin süreci nasıl daha kolay hale getirdikleri vurgulanmak istenmiştir. Bu vaka çalışması, Türkiye’de küçük bir ilde yaşanmış eğitim yöneticileri ve öğretmenler arasındaki örnek olayları ele almaktadır. Bu çalışmada nitel bir desen olan vaka (örnek olay) incelemesi kullanılmıştır. Vaka incelemesi deseninde yapılandırılmamış görüşme tekniği ile toplanan veriler, literatür ile desteklenmiştir. Bu vaka çalışması, okul yöneticilerinin kriz yönetim anlayışlarını yeniden şekillendirmelerine yardımcı olabilmek amacı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu çalışmada anlatılan örnek olaylardaki krizler, eğitim liderlerinin durumlara sosyal-duygusal yönden yaklaşmaları ile çözülebilmiştir ya da krizlere sosyal-duygusal bir bakış açısı geliştirilmediği noktada çözümsüz kalmıştır.</p></abstract>
