<p>The subject of the present study is the approaches of Islamic historians, mufassirun and orientalists to the Nakhla expedition and the verse Baqarah 217. In the tradition of Islamic science, many Muslim scholars, especially historians and mufassirun, paid special attention to the expedition and the verse. Many Western writers and orientalists who conduct research on Islam have also focused on the aforementioned expedition and the verse because the expedition witnessed firsts in the history of Islam. The problem of the study is to question the approaches of Islamic scholars and orientalists to the expedition. The importance of the study is to present comparatively the approaches of three different groups, Islamic historians, mufassirun and orientalists, in the example of the Nakhla expedition and its verse. The literature review technique was used in the article and the works of prominent Islamic historians and many orientalists were applied. Considering that the Nakhla expedition has been the subject of many academic studies before, it is clear in the present study that revealing the expedition according to classical sources will not go beyond repetition. At the end of the study, it was found that Islamic scholars and orientalists have developed different perspectives and interpretations on the subject. The reason for the differences is the differences between the Islamic scientific paradigm and the Western scientific paradigm in terms of belief, ontology, epistemology, methodology and ethics.</p></trans-abstract>
