Ölçek geliştirme sürecinde ulusal ve uluslararası ölçek geliştirme yazınında kabul görmüş kriterlere uyulmuştur. Bu kapsamda üç ayrı uygulama gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmalar 15 Ocak – 15 Mayıs 2018 tarihleri arasında yürütülmüştür. Her bir uygulamaya iştirak eden katılımcılar birbirinden farklıdır. Yapılan uygulamalara Ankara’da faaliyet gösteren sekiz farklı örgütte çalışan, toplam 1.007 katılımcı (birinci uygulamada 310, ikinci uygulamada 342, üçüncü uygulamada ise 355 katılımcı) gönüllü olarak iştirak etmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda, on yedi maddeden ve bezdiren davranışlar, samimiyetsiz davranışlar ve zorbaca davranışlar boyutlarından oluşan özgün bir karanlık liderlik algısı ölçeği geliştirilmiştir.</p>
