Abstract
Background.- There are several reports regarding the rapid resolution of acute epidural hematoma. There are some possible mechanisms may involve in these cases. A 2 year old girl fell from a height and Children Coma Score was 15/15. CT scan revealed a linear fracture on the temporal bone and a right side temporoparietal acute epidural hematoma. The patient was observed in the clinic and control CT scan revealed disappearance of hematoma in the posttraumatic 12th hour.
Observation.- Evidence of a fracture in the rare cases of acute epidural hematoma can lead rapid resolution of epidural hematoma with an increase in the size of scalp hematoma.
Akut epidural ve subdural hematomların konservatif tedavi yöntemleri ile takip edilmeleri sonucunda hematomun hızla kaybolabileceği literatürde bildirilmiştir. Ancak hematomun ilk 24 saat içerisinde kaybolması oldukça nadirdir. Bu olgu
sunumu literatürdeki örnekleri ile karşılaştırarak akut epidural hematomlarm (AEH) hızla emilmesindeki olası mekanizmalar ortaya konulmaktadır.
