Plagiarism: It is defined as presenting the original ideas, methods, data, or works of others as one's own work, in whole or in part, without citing them in accordance with scientific rules (The Council of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Guideline, Article 4, https://www.yok.gov.tr/Documents/Mevzuat/yuksekogretim-kurumlari-bilimsel-arastirma-ve-yayin-etigi-yonergesi.pdf).
JAFDU is an internationally refereed scientific journal that publishes review and research articles in the field of agriculture. Submitted articles are evaluated in a double-blind peer-reviewed manner.
Types of Plagiarism
JAFDU considers the following types of plagiarism:
Full plagiarism occurs when someone publishes previously published content without changing the text, ideas, or grammar. Presenting the full text from a source as your own is known as full plagiarism.
Partial plagiarism : If the content is a mix of multiple different sources, where the author has extensively restated the text, this is considered partial plagiarism.
Self-Plagiarism: When an author reuses all or part of their previously published research, it is self-plagiarism. A situation where an author republishes their previously published work in a new journal is also known as self-plagiarism.
The journal respects intellectual property rights and aims to protect and promote the original work of its authors. Plagiarism in articles violates research and originality standards. Therefore, all authors submitting articles to the journal are expected to comply with ethical standards and avoid any form of plagiarism. If a submitted or published article is suspected of plagiarism, the journal's editorial board first examines the work. The work is then reviewed by the Editorial Board. The journal then contacts the author(s) and requests them to submit their justifications within 15 days. If the author(s) do not respond within the stipulated timeframe, the journal will initiate contact with the authors' institutions to request an investigation into the matter.
