Abstract

Maksiller sinüsün mukoepidermoid karsinomu oldukça nadirdir. Hastamız burun tıkanıklığı
ve burun kanaması gibi nonspesifik şikayetler ile hastanemize başvurmuştur. Alınan
biyopsinin histopatolojik ve immünohistokimyasal inceleme sonucunda vaka
‘’mukoepidermoid karsinom’ tanısı almıştır. Anatomik yerleşiminden dolayı kitle tam olarak
çıkarılamamış ve hastaya postoperatif radyoterapi verilmiştir. 2 yıl sonra hastamızın tümörü
nüks etmiştir.

Recurrent Mucoepidermoid Carcinoma of The Maxillary Sinus

Abstract

Mucoepidermoid carcinoma of the maxillary sinus is extremely rare. Our patient was admitted
to our hospital with nonspecific complaints such as nasal obstruction and nasal bleeding. As a
result of the histopathological and immunohistochemical examination of the biopsy taken, the
case was diagnosed as "mucoepidermoid carcinoma." The mass could not be completely
resected due to its anatomical location, and the patient received postoperative radiotherapy.
Our patient's tumor recurred after two years.
