Abstract

The main goal of companies is to ensure their sustainability by gaining competitive advantage. In this direction, today's working conditions, where competition is becoming increasingly difficult, make workaholism widespread and prevent working individuals from obtaining productive outputs for businesses in the long term. In this study, the effect of workaholism on workplace happiness is examined in line with this purpose. Within the framework of this purpose, the data obtained from 819 people working in private hospitals in Istanbul, which operates in the health sector of the service sector, through the questionnaire method were analysed in SPSS 25.0 programme. Within the scope of the research, frequency and percentage analysis, Cronbach's Alpha reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, Pearson correlation analysis were performed and the effect of workaholism on workplace happiness is explained by regression analysis. As a result, it was determined that there is a negative relationship between the workaholism levels of healthcare workers and their workplace happiness and that workaholism negatively affects workplace happiness.
