                                                                                                <abstract><p>The article considers the potential application of authentic video materials in teachingmedical French and special aspects of their usage implemented by “Practical Course of aSecond Foreign Language” as part Master&#039;s Degree Program in Linguistics in Sechenov University,Moscow. The relevance of the topic is confirmed by the implementation of themethodology in order to provide future masters with general cultural andprofessional competencies included in the new Federal State EducationalStandards of Higher Professional Education of Masters in the field ofLinguistics. The Linguistics program is focused on teaching foreignlanguages and professional communication to future health professionals. Thekeen interest of the majority of students in foreign-language television andInternet broadcasting encourages them to learn foreign languages. When used appropriatelyaudio visual aids encourage teaching learning process, increase students’motivation and make the lesson more interesting and dynamic. The greatcuriosity to the described type of activity expressed by the postgraduatestudents is especially worth mentioning.</p></abstract>
