Achieving economic growth and controlling price movements, which are among the primary macroeconomic goals, are crucial aspects that both developed and developing countries focus on. These two goals are among the most important conditions for ensuring the well-being of a society. It is observed that these conditions are not being provided to the necessary level in developing countries. This study investigates the potential effects of inflation, variables affecting inflation, and inflation uncertainty on economic growth, based on the endogenous growth model widely accepted in the literature. In this context, using a panel data set from developing countries, unit root tests considering cross-sectional dependence, cointegration tests allowing for multiple breaks, and long-term coefficient tests are applied to evaluate their effects on economic growth. In accordance with the analysis results, it is concluded that inflation has a significant impact on economic growth.
Makroekonomik hedeflerin başında gelen ekonomik büyümeyi sağlama ve fiyat hareketlerinin kontrolü gelişmiş ve gelişmekte olan tüm ülkelerin üzerinde önemle durdukları olgulardır. Bu iki hedef bir toplumun refahının sağlanmasında en önde gelen koşullardandır. Gelişmekte olan ülkelerde bu koşulların gerekli düzeye getirilemediği gözlenmektedir. Çalışmada, literatürde geniş çaplı kabul gören içsel büyüme modeli temel alınarak enflasyon, enflasyonu etkileyen değişkenler ve enflasyon belirsizliğinin ekonomik büyüme üzerine olası etkileri araştırılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, gelişmekte olan ülkelerden oluşturulan panel veri seti kullanılarak yatay kesit bağımlığını dikkate alan birim kök testleri, çoklu kırılmaya izin veren eş bütünleşme testi ve uzun dönemli katsayı testleri uygulanarak ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkileri değerlendirilmektedir. Elde edilen analiz sonuçlarına göre, enflasyonun ekonomik büyüme üzerinde anlamlı bir etki yarattığı sonucuna ulaşılmaktadır.
