A NEW MULTILEVEL INVERTER TOPOLOGY FOR PERMANENT MAGNET SYNCHRONOUS MOTORS

Abstract

In this study, a multilevel inverter topology that can be used in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) is proposed. The proposed structure achieves the multilevel voltage shape with the level modules in the structure and the switching signals of the switching elements in the modules. Output voltage harmonics are low. Therefore, it is very advantageous to use this structure in sinusoidal machines such as PMSM. In order to demonstrate this advantage, the proposed inverter is simulated for variable torque and variable speed conditions together with PMSM. According to the simulation results, as the number of levels increases, the voltage and current total harmonic distortion (THD) values decrease and the waveforms become more sinusoidal. It is very convenient to use the proposed inverter as an PMSM driver in variable load and variable speed applications.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Sürekli Mıknatıslı Senkron Motorlarda (SMSM) kullanılabilecek çok seviyeli evirici topolojisi önerilmektedir. Önerilen yapı çok seviyeli gerilim şeklini yapısındaki seviye modülleri ve modüller içerisindeki anahtarlama elemanlarına ait tetikleme sinyalleri ile elde etmektedir. Çıkış gerilimi harmonikleri düşüktür. Bu yüzden bu yapının SMSM gibi giriş akımının saf sinüs olduğu motor uygulamalarında kullanılması oldukça uygundur. Bu üstünlüğü göstermek için önerilen eviricinin SMSM ile birlikte değişken moment ve değişken hız durumları için benzetim çalışması yapılmıştır. Benzetim sonuçlarına göre seviye sayısı arttıkça gerilim ve akım toplam harmonik bozunumu (THB) değerleri azalarak dalga şekilleri daha sinüsoidal hale gelmektedir. Önerilen eviricinin, SMSM sürücüsü olarak değişken yük ve değişken hız uygulamalarında kullanılması oldukça uygundur.
