<p>Purpose: The aim of the study was to compare patient characteristics, incontinence behaviors, and quality of life among women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI), urgency urinary incontinence (UUI) and mixed urinary incontinence (MUI). Methods: The study was carried out 642 women with urinary incontinence (191 with SUI, 208 with UUI, 243 with MUI). The demographic, obstetric and gynecological characteristics were recorded. Urinary incontinence behaviors and quality of life were evaluated by the Urinary Incontinence Behavior Scale (UIBS) and Incontinence Quality of Life Questionnaire (IQOL), respectively. Results: There was no significant difference between the three groups in terms of demographic, obstetric and gynecological characteristics, and the UIBS-symptom, treatment, and approach attitude scores (p&amp;gt;0.05). The UIBS total score was higher in the SUI group than in the MUI group (p&amp;lt;0.05). The SUI group had the highest score on the UIBS preventive attitude (p&amp;lt;0.05). The UIBS-preventive attitude score was higher than that of the MUI group (p&amp;lt;0.05). Conclusion: There may be differences in some attitudes (preventive attitude) towards incontinence of women with different incontinence types with similar physical characteristics. Information and educational strategies about incontinence can increase awareness about lower urinary system management.</p></trans-abstract>
