Unfortunately despite of its importance, freshwater resources are being polluted by disposable of sewerage, industrialeffluents, municipal waste, mining activity, agricultural activity and otherdifferent types of waste into the river/lakes. The objective of this study wasto assess physico-chemical parameters of the Lumëbardhi of Deçani River as amain water supplier of Radoniqi Lake during the year, 20015. The variations ofwater quality parameters along the river courses (upper, middle and lowercourse), between seasons and in lake were examined. The majority of theparameters showed that there is significant variations of the water qualityparameters between the winter and summer seasons. However, the variations alongthe river courses sampling site (upper, middle and lower course) were higher atthe middle sampling site in urban areas. This implies that the water quality isinfluenced more by anthropogenic impacts in the middle course of the river. Thephysicochemical parameters analyzed in Radoniqi Lake lie within the permissiblerange and it is a good quality for drinking after treatment, irrigation andfish culture purposes.</p>
