                                                                                                                        <abstract><p>In this study, the usage of pinecone powder as an adsorbent for removing methylene blue from aqueous solutionwas investigated. Within this scope adsorption experiments were performed andthe results showed that the Freundlich isotherm model was a more convenientoption compared to the Langmuir and Temkin models. The results also determined thatthe pseudo second order kinetic model demonstrated higher correlationcoefficients (R2) values compared to the pseudo first order andintra-particle diffusion models. Initial dye concentration was found to shiftfrom 100 to 300 mg/l, while adsorption capacity onto the pine cone powderchanged from 40.99 to 95.24 mg/g, 41.56 to 97.93 mg/g, and 43.51 to 101.41 mg/gfor 298 K, 308 K and 318 K, respectively. The thermodynamic parameters for theinstant free energy (ΔG), enthalpy (ΔH), and entropy (ΔS) of this separation processwere found by referring to -1595,11 J/mol, 2465,83 J/mol and 12,77 J/mol,respectively. The negative ΔG◦ values revealed that this separation processwas endothermic and natural.</p></abstract>
