Araştırmanın amacı tarih konularının öğretiminde karikatürlerin kullanımına yönelik tarih öğretmen adaylarının görüşlerinin belirlenmesidir. Nitel araştırma yöntemiyle yürütülen araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Gazi Üniversitesi, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi, Tarih Öğretmenliği programında öğrenim gören 25 öğretmen adayı oluşturmuştur. Veriler, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmış ve içerik analizi yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Verilerin analizi neticesinde, özetle tarih öğretmen adaylarının karikatürlerin tarih konularının öğretiminde öğretici, eğlenceli, düşünme becerilerini geliştirebilen bir araç olduğunu ifade ettikleri belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanı sıra öğrenci seviyesine, konuya göre seçilmeyen ve öğrenciye uygun olmayan görsel figürler ile ifadeler bulunan karikatürlerin bir sınırlılık olabileceğini belirtmişlerdir. Karikatür seçiminde ise bu noktalara dikkat edilmesi gerektiğini dile getirdikleri sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.

The aim of the research is to determine the opinions of history teacher candidates regarding the use of cartoons in teaching history subjects. The study group of the research, which was conducted with the qualitative research method, consisted of 25 teacher candidates studying at Gazi University, Gazi Faculty of Education, History Teaching program. Data was collected with a semi-structured interview form and analyzed using the content analysis method. As a result of the analysis of the data, it was determined that prospective history teachers stated that cartoons were an instructive, entertaining tool that could improve thinking skills in teaching history subjects. In addition, they stated that cartoons that are not selected according to the student level or subject and contain visual figures and expressions that are not suitable for the student may be a limitation. It was concluded that they stated that these points should be taken into consideration when choosing cartoons.
