Öğretmenlik mesleği diğermesleklerden farklı olarak bir neslin niteliğinin biçimlenmesi yönündebireylerle ilişki ve iletişim halinde gerçekleştirilmektedir. Bu araştırma,Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi’ne bağlı Resim-İş Eğitimi Anabilim Dalında okumakta olanöğrencilerin, Görsel Sanat Öğretmenliği mesleğini ve Gazi Üniversitesi’nitercih etme nedenlerini belirlemek amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmabetimsel yöntem ile yürütülmüştür. Çalışma grubu, kolay ulaşılabilir durumörneklemesi yöntemi ile belirlenmiş olup Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi Resim-İş EğitimiAnabilim Dalı öğrencilerinden 196 öğrenci ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Çalışmanınverileri, çoktan seçmeli sorulardan ve üçlü likert ölçeğinden elde edilerekiçerik analizi ile yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçları, hem öğrencilerin meslektercih sebeplerine dikkat çekmesi bakımından hem de Görsel Sanatlar alanındaTürkiye’nin öğretmen yetiştiren en köklü kurumu olan Gazi Üniversitesi’nintercih edilme nedenlerinin ortaya çıkması bakımından önemlidir.
Teaching is performed within a relationship and through communicationwith individuals, in order to help to shape a generation in a positive way.This study aims to determine why art education undergraduate students preferthe visual arts and Gazi University. The study was designed as a descriptivestudy. A total of 196 students from the art education department of the GaziFaculty of Education constituted the participants, and were selected throughthe convenience sampling technique. Multiple-choice questions and a 3-pointLikert-type scale were used to collect data and content analysis was used to analysethe data. The results are of critical significance in terms of both pointingout students’ occupational preferences, and revealing the reasons forpreferring Gazi University, the oldest established institution educatingteachers in the visual arts.
