Yabancı Dil Olarak Türkçe Öğrenen Öğrencilerin Akıcı Sözcük ve Metin Okuma Becerileriyle Kavrama Becerileri Arasındaki İlişkinin Karşılaştırılması

Abstract





ÖZ: Okuma becerisi dil öğretiminin temel beceri alanlarından
biridir. O nedenle gerek anadili gerekse yabancı dil öğretimi süreçlerinde
üzerinde önemle durulan bir alandır. Bununla birlikte okuma becerisi
karmaşık zihinsel işlemleri gerektiren bir beceri alanıdır. Bu beceriyi
yerine getirebilemek için okumanın akıcı olması beklenmektedir. Çünkü
alanyazında da yer aldığı gibi akıcı okuma kavramayı etkileyen önemlli bir
değişkendir. Diğer dilleri yabancı dil olarak öğrenen kişiler üzerinde
yapılan çalışmalar, hem akıcı sözcük okumanın hem de akıcı metin okumanın
kavramayla ilişkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Ancak ilerleyen dönemlerde akıcı
metin okuma kavramayla daha çok ilişkili görünmektedir. Türkçeyi yabancı dil
olarak öğrenen öğrenciler açısından durum nasıldır? Bu soru araştırmamızın
temelini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma süreci sonucunda hem akıcı sözcük
okumanın hem de akıcı metin okumanın Türkçeyi yabancı dil olarak öğrenen
öğrencilerin kavrama düzeyleriyle ilişkili bulunmuştur. Buna karşın
alanyazından farklı olarak akıcı sözcük okuma kavramayla daha çok ilişkili
bulunmuştur.
