                                                                                                <abstract><p>Individuals who embraces one of the leadership styles of Path-Goal Leadership Theory which is one of the leadership theories, can be succesful at making the work group effective, for these leadership styles enables leaders to assess needs and clarify goals.Looking at studies in Turkish literature, it is noticed that leadership behaviours were examined in the terms of Path-Goal Leadership Theory however the relationship between leadership styles in this theory and work performance were not examined sufficiently and motivation is ignored.In this study, Path-Goal Leadership Theory will be examined in viewpoint of management, under the title of Motivation Process Theories. It is aimed that validity of path-goal leadership theory and effect on work performance in several jewellery firms in İstanbul to be tested. Questionnaires prepared for the study had been sent to various jewellery firms and 135 valid questionnaires were obtained.
