Journal Authorship  Rules
Download the “Article Template” and “Article Submission Form” files, which have been prepared according to the journal writing rules, using the links provided below, and update the forms in accordance with the writing rules. Upload the relevant files to the system during the initial submission of the article.

1. The journal is published in Turkish and English every 6 months.
2. A scan report obtained from Turnitin or other similar scanning programs must also be uploaded to the system. The report result must be 20% or below. Those above this percentage will not be considered for evaluation.
3. Articles previously uploaded to the system must not be deleted during revisions.
4. The font should be Times New Roman 11 point.
5. In the manuscript, a 2 cm margin should be left at the top, left, bottom, and right sides of each page.
6. All lines in the article should start at the beginning of the left margin. Paragraphs should not start indented.
7. Page Numbers: Numbering should be done with natural numbers centered at the bottom of the page (1, 2, 3, etc.).
8. Paragraph settings should be set to 0 before and 6 after. Line spacing should be set to 1.
9. Article authors should be introduced under the main title, with each author given a footnote.
10. Articles submitted to the journal should not have been published elsewhere.
11. Articles submitted to the journal will be published after they have been reviewed by two relevant referees and a positive report has been given. If one reviewer gives a positive report and the other gives a negative report, the article is sent to a third reviewer.

12. Authors agree that if the article is accepted for publication by the journal, it will be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) International License.

13. Articles submitted to the journal must include the following sections: (All main section headings should be written in bold, 12-point font with only the first letter capitalized. The text should be written in 11-point Times New Roman font. The abstract should be written in 10-point italic font.)

    a) Cover page (Article Title, [14-point, bold, centered, and first letters capitalized] Author(s) Name(s) [12-point bold and centered, only last name capitalized], Mailing Address, email, Orcid ID – https://orcid.org/register [Shown in a footnote, 10-point]
    b) Turkish Title (From the second page onwards [14-point, bold, centered, and first letters capitalized])
    c) English Title (14-point, bold, centered, and first letters capitalized)
    d) Turkish Abstract (Summary) (Not exceeding 150 words [10-point, italic, and justified])
    e) Keywords and JEL Codes (10 pt, italic, and justified)
    f) English Abstract (not exceeding 150 words [10 pt, italic, and justified])
    g) Keywords and JEL Codes (10 pt, italic, and justified)
    h) The “Extended Abstract” section should be prepared with a minimum of 750 words. It should include the purpose of the study, the research methods used, the findings obtained in the study, and the results/discussion section.

14. APA 6.0 standards should be followed in citing sources.
15. When referencing sources in the text, the authors' last names and publication dates (and page numbers if necessary) should be used. For example: At the end of the sentence; (Özüdoğru, 2017) or (Özüdoğru, 2017, p. 155) or (Özüdoğru, 2017, pp. 155-159). At the beginning of the sentence; According to Özüdoğru (2017); should be used. When citing sources with two or more authors, at the end of the sentence:
(Özüdoğru, Şekeroğlu, and Fidanlı, 2017) or (Özüdoğru, Şekeroğlu, and Fidanlı, 2017, p. 57) or (Özüdoğru, Şekeroğlu, and Fidanlı, 2017, pp. 57-73). At the beginning of the sentence; According to Özüdoğru, Şekeroğlu, and Fidan (2017); or According to Özüdoğru, Şekeroğlu, and Fidanlı (2017, pp. 57-73); should be used. If more than one work is referenced at the end of a sentence, these sources should be listed in parentheses in alphabetical order. For example; (Özüdoğru, 2017; Kaya, 2018; Özüdoğru and Şekeroğlu, 2018). If there are more than three authors in the referenced work, the surname of the first author should be followed by the abbreviation “et al.” For example: (Ersoy et al., 2016).
16.  If the text contains direct quotations from sources, the page number must be provided when referencing the source. When referring to sources in the Turkish text, “s.” or “ss.” should be used for page information. For example: (Özüdoğru, 2008, p. 155) or (Özüdoğru, 2008, pp. 155-179).
17. Tables, graphs, and figures included in the text should be created in the text area aligned to both sides, and the figure, graph, and table titles should be written above the table (graph or figure). Only the table, graph, and figure should be written in bold and numbered. Table, graph, and figure titles should be written in italics. Table numbering should start with “1” and should not take the section number into account. For example, if there are two tables in the article, they should be numbered Table 1.xxx and Table 2.xxx. 18.  References should be listed in alphabetical order and formatted as follows.

Ethical Rules

Journal of Banking and Financial Research is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes high-quality scientific articles in the fields of banking, finance, economics, business, insurance, etc., in accordance with the ethical principles and rules outlined below. Articles submitted to the Journal of Banking and Financial Research are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process and published electronically with free access. The ethical responsibilities, roles, and duties of authors, journal editors, reviewers, and publishers are outlined below. The ethical principles and rules below have been prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE (https://publicationethics.org/)). Information regarding situations considered plagiarism and unethical behavior in the Journal of Banking and Financial Research is also provided.

Authors

- Articles submitted to the Journal of Banking and Financial Research must be original works in the fields of Banking, Finance, Economics, Business, Insurance, etc.
- All sources used in the articles (authors, online pages, personal interviews, etc.) must be cited correctly and appropriately.
- It must be stated that articles submitted to the journal have not been submitted to any other journal, and the Copyright Transfer Form must be filled.
- Authors agree that if the article is accepted for publication by the journal, it will be licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0) International License.
- Individuals who have not contributed intellectually to the article should not be listed as authors.
- Conflicts of interest related to the submitted article must be disclosed and explained.
- A second article by an author whose article has been published in the journal may be published no earlier than four issues after the issue in which the first article was published.
- Authors may be asked to submit raw data related to their work to the editorial board during the peer review process; in such cases, authors are expected to share their raw data with the editorial  board. Authors are required to retain data related to a published article for 5 years.
-Authors should inform the editor and editorial board when they identify an error in their work and cooperate in the correction or retraction process.

Reviewers
- All articles submitted to the Journal of Banking and Financial Research are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process. Double-blind peer review means that the authors are kept anonymous from the reviewers and the reviewers are kept anonymous from the authors to ensure an impartial, objective, and independent evaluation process. Articles are sent to reviewers for evaluation via the journal management system.
- Referees are required to fill out a form containing their decision on whether the article they have evaluated contributes to the fields of Banking, Finance, Economics, Business, Insurance, etc., and whether the article is publishable, along with the reasons for their decision. The ethical responsibilities and roles of the referees of the Journal of Banking and Financial Research are as follows:
- Reviewers should only review articles related to their areas of expertise.
- Reviewers are expected to accept to review articles with which they have no conflict of interest. If reviewers notice any conflict of interest, they should inform the editor and decline to review the article in question.
- Reviewers should evaluate articles impartially and objectively.
- Reviewers must complete the Reviewer Evaluation Form for the articles they evaluate. To avoid compromising the double-blind peer review process, they should not include their names on the forms. Reviewers must also indicate their decision regarding whether the article they evaluated is publishable and the rationale for their decision on this form.
- The style used by referees in their recommendations must be polite, respectful, and scientific. Referees should avoid aggressive, disrespectful, and subjective personal comments. If referees are found to have made such non-scientific comments, the editor or editorial board may contact them to review and correct their comments.
- Reviewers are expected to complete their evaluations within the time allotted and to adhere to the ethical responsibilities outlined here.

Editor
- The editor must adhere to the ‘Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors’ (COPE Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors (https://publicationethics.org/ files/Code_of_conduct_for_journal_editors_Mar11.pdf) and the ‘COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors’ (https://publicationethics.org/files/u2/Best_Practice.pdf) and listed below.
- The editor is responsible for all articles published in the journal. The editor's ethical duties and responsibilities are as follows:
General Responsibilities
- The editor is responsible for striving to enhance the quality and development of the journal.
- The editor must support the freedom of expression of authors.
Relations with Readers
- The editor must ensure that sections of the journal where peer review is not required (letters to the editor, invited articles, conference announcements, etc.) are clearly indicated.
- The editor must strive to ensure that published articles are compatible with the knowledge and skills of the journal's readers.
Relations with Reviewers
- The editor should request that reviewers evaluate articles that match their knowledge and expertise. This ensures that articles are appropriately evaluated by experts in the field.
- The editor is responsible for requesting that reviewers declare any conflicts of interest before evaluating an article.
- The editor must communicate to the reviewers all necessary information regarding the review process and what is expected of them.
- The editor must ensure that the review process is conducted with double-blind peer review and must not disclose the authors to the reviewers or the reviewers to the authors.
- The editor should evaluate reviewers based on their timeliness and performance.
- The editor must create a database of reviewers and update it according to their performance.
- The editor must remove reviewers who make rude and unqualified comments or who are slow to respond from the list of reviewers.
- The editor must continuously update and expand the list of reviewers according to their areas of expertise.
Relations with Authors
- The editor should continuously update the publication and writing rules and sample template regarding what is expected of authors.
- The editor should evaluate articles submitted to the journal in terms of the journal's writing rules, the importance of the work, and its originality. If the editor decides to reject the article during the initial submission process, they should communicate the reason to the authors in a clear and impartial manner. If, during this process, it is decided that the article needs to be reviewed again in terms of grammar, punctuation, and/or writing rules (margins, proper referencing, etc.), authors should be informed of this and given time to make the necessary corrections.
- Articles should include the dates of submission and acceptance for publication.
- When authors request information about the status of their articles, they should be provided with information about the status of their articles in a manner that does not compromise the double-blind peer review process.

Relations with the Editorial Board
- The editor should communicate the publication and writing rules to new editorial board members and explain what is expected of them.
- The editor should communicate the most recent version of the publication and writing rules to the editorial board members.
- The editor should evaluate the editorial board members and select those who will actively participate in the development of the journal for the editorial board.
- The editor should inform the editorial board members about their roles and responsibilities as listed below.
- Support the development of the journal.
- Write compilations related to their areas of expertise when requested.
- Review and improve publication and writing rules.
- Fulfill the necessary responsibilities in the operation of the journal.

Publisher
The Journal of Banking and Financial Research is published by Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. The publisher's ethical responsibilities are as follows:
- The publisher acknowledges that the decision-making authority and the peer review process for articles published in the Journal of Banking and Financial Research are the responsibility of the editor.
- The publisher provides open, electronic, and free access to the journal on its website.

Plagiarism and Unethical Behavior
- All articles submitted to the Journal of Banking and Financial Research are scanned with the IThenticate (http://www.ithenticate.com/) or Turnitin (https://www.turnitin.com/) software program before publication. Articles with a similarity rate of 20% or less are accepted for publication. Articles exceeding this rate are reviewed in detail and, if necessary, returned to the authors for revision or correction. If plagiarism or unethical behavior is detected, publication is rejected.

Some unethical behaviors are listed below:
- Listing individuals who did not contribute intellectually to the work as authors.
- Failure to list individuals who contributed intellectually to the work as authors.
- Failure to indicate if the article was produced from the author's master's/doctoral thesis or a project.
- Salami slicing, i.e., publishing multiple articles from a single study.
- Failure to disclose conflicts of interest related to submitted articles.
- Breaching the double-blind peer review process.
