Metastazı Taklit Eden Spinal Tüberküloz: Bir Olgu Sunumu

Year 2015, Volume: 1 Issue: 3, 115 - 118, 18.12.2015

Abstract

Year 2015, Volume: 1 Issue: 3, 115 - 118, 18.12.2015

Abstract

Tuberculous spondylitis is defi ned as infection caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis of components of the spine namely, the vertebra, intervertebral discs, paraspinal soft tissues, and the epidural space. Although the prevalence is higher in developing countries, it is common all over the World. Musculoscelatal involvement is seen most frequently in the vertebral system. TB spondylitis constitute 5-15% of all cases of TB. It is a serious clinical problem due to their high morbidity caused by the disease. Early diagnosis and treatment to avoid permanent neurological defi cits and spinal deformities is important. Here we present a case of tubeculous spondylitis mimicing metastatic disease.
