KÜLTÜRLERARASI İLETİŞİM EĞİTİMİNDE ÖĞRENCİLERİN KÜLTÜRLERARASI DUYARLILIK GELİŞİMİ ÖZ DEĞERLENDİRMELERİ ÜZERİNE BİR İNCELEME

Abstract

Kültürlerarası iletişimin önemi, uluslararası ve ulus ötesi ilişkilerin yoğunlaşması ile birlikte her geçen gün artmaktadır. Dolayısıyla insanların farklı kültürlerden gelen bireylerle etkileşime açık ve hazır olması bir gereklilik haline gelmektedir. Bu doğrultuda üniversite öğrencilerinin günlük yaşamlarında ve mesleki yaşamlarında gerekecek kültürlerarası iletişim becerileri ile donatılması amacıyla kültürlerarası iletişim eğitimi ders programlarına dâhil edilmeye başlanmıştır. Bu çalışmada İzmir Ekonomi Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi bünyesinde verilen kültürlerarası iletişim dersi kapsamında gerçekleştirilen kültürlerarası duyarlılık alıştırması üzerine bir değerlendirme yapılmaktadır. Bennett’in Kültürlerarası Duyarlılık Gelişim Modeli üzerinde gerçekleştirilen sınıf içi etkinlikte öğrencilerin yazdığı öz değerlendirme metinlerinin tematik analizi sonucunda kültürlerarası iletişim eğitiminin farklı tekniklerle geliştirilmesi üzerine öneriler sunulmaktadır.
