Meriç Plain, which has great land conditions and water resources, is known as “Agriculture Land” and one of the most important agricultural regions of Turkey. This region is the largest rice cultivation area of Turkey and makes the greatest contribution to the rice production. In this study, social and economic structures of rice producers living in İpsala, Karpuzlu and Meriç regions were investigated by using some systematic data collection techniques and also a socio – economic assessment was provided for the region according to detected data.
