Peer Review and Publication Process

Journal of Academic Tourism Analysis (Journal ATA) employs a Double-Blind Peer Review system to ensure scientific quality, editorial impartiality, and research integrity. Under this system, authors and reviewers remain anonymous to one another throughout the evaluation process.

All submitted manuscripts undergo the following editorial and peer-review procedure.

1. Manuscript Submission

Manuscripts are submitted electronically through the DergiPark online submission system. Authors are expected to provide all required documents and information during submission.

2. Initial Technical Screening

The Editorial Office examines each submission for:

  • compliance with the journal's formatting requirements;
  • completeness of submission files;
  • anonymization of author information;
  • ethics approval statement (where applicable);
  • conflict of interest declaration;
  • funding statement;
  • data availability statement; and
  • artificial intelligence disclosure (where applicable).

Incomplete submissions may be returned to the authors before editorial evaluation.

3. Similarity Check

All manuscripts passing the technical screening are subjected to similarity analysis using plagiarism detection software.

Editorial decisions are based not only on similarity percentages but also on the nature and context of the detected similarities.

Manuscripts presenting significant ethical concerns may be rejected before peer review.

  • consistency with the journal's aims and scope;

  • theoretical contribution;
  • methodological quality;
  • adequacy of literature review;
  • academic writing quality; and
  • ethical compliance.

  • institutional independence.

Additional reviewers may be invited whenever necessary.
