Süt İneklerinde Propilen Glikol ve Gliserol Kullanımının Betahidroksibutirik Asit, Esterleşmemiş Yağ Asitleri ve Vücut Kondüsyon Skoru Üzerine Etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı; geçiş döneminde görülen negatif enerji dengesi problemine, glikoz prekürsörlerinin kan betahidroksibutirik asit
(BHBA), Esterleşmemiş yağ asitleri (NEFA) ve vücut kondisyon skoru (VKS) üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir. Bu çalışmada en az bir
doğum yapmış, 60 Holstein ırkı süt ineği kullanılmıştır. Hayvanlar 20’şer adetten oluşan 3 gruba ayrılmıştır. Gliserol (G) grubundaki hayvanlara
sabah yemlemesinden sonra günde 1 öğün pompayla 450 ml gliserol, Propilen Glikol (PG) grubuna 300 ml propilen glikol içirilmiştir.
Kontrol (K) grubundaki hayvanlara herhangi bir uygulama yapılmamıştır. Hayvanların süt verimleri deneme süresince günlük takip edilmiştir.
Laktasyonun 100. gününe kadar her hafta art arda iki gün tüm sığırlardan süt numunesi toplanarak süt analizleri yapılmıştır. Beta hidoksi-
bütirik asit (BHBA) ve esterleşmemiş yağ asitleri (NEFA) testleri için kan örnekleri doğum öncesi 1, doğum sonrası 0, 1, 2 ve 3. haftalarda
alınarak ticari kitlerle analizleri yapılmıştır. İneklerden alınan kan numunelerinden BHBA, NEFA ve VKS seviyelerinde gruplar arasında
farklılık saptanmamıştır. Bu çalışmadan G ve PG gibi glikoz prokürsörlerinin özellikle geçiş dönemindeki ineklerde kan BHBA, NEFA ve
Vücut kondüsyon skorları üzerine herhangi bir etki yaratmadığı sonucu çıkarılabilir.

The Effects of Using Propylene Glycol and Glycerol on BHBA, NEFA and Body Condition Score in Dairy Cows

Abstract

The aim of this study; The aim of this study is to examine the effects of glucose precursors on the negative energy balance problem seen in the
transition period, on blood BHBA, NEFA and body condition score (BCS). In the study, 60 Holstein dairy cows with at least one birth were
used. The animals were divided into 3 groups of 20 each. Animals in the glycerol (G) group were given 450 ml of glycerol with a pump once
a day after morning feeding, and 300 ml of propylene glycol in the Propylene Glycol (PG) group. No application was made to the animals
in the control (K) group. For metabolic profile tests such as beta hydroxy-butyric acid (BHBA) and non-esterified fatty acids (NEFA), blood
samples were taken at prenatal 1, postnatal 0, 1, 2 and 3 weeks and analyzed with commercial kits. There was no difference between the groups
in BHBA, NEFA and VKS levels from blood samples taken from cows. It was concluded that the using glucose precursor which are propylene
glycol and glycerol during the transiiton period there was no significant effect on BHBA, NEFA and BCS in dairy cows.
