Article Types

The Journal of Soft Computing and Artificial Intelligence (JSCAI) publishes original, high-quality, peer-reviewed research that contributes significantly to the fields of soft computing and artificial intelligence. Manuscripts must demonstrate novelty, methodological rigor, and clear relevance to the journal’s scope. Submissions that fail to meet these standards or fall outside the journal’s scope are not considered for review.

JSCAI accepts the following article types:

• Original Research Articles
  Full-length manuscripts presenting novel research findings, including detailed methodology, experimental validation, and comprehensive analysis. Submissions must demonstrate scientific rigor, originality, and a meaningful contribution to the advancement of the field.

• Review Articles
  Scholarly and critical surveys that synthesize existing research, evaluate current trends, and identify future research directions. Review papers should provide substantial insight and be grounded in a comprehensive and up-to-date literature base.

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools
Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content, including any material generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools. Compliance with the journal’s AI Policy is mandatory.

Language and Academic Style

All manuscripts must be written in clear, concise, and grammatically accurate English. Authors should adopt a formal academic tone, ensure consistency in terminology, and define all technical terms and abbreviations upon first use. Linguistic clarity and coherence are essential for effective scientific communication.

Manuscript Preparation, Formatting, and References

Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the official JSCAI LaTeX template and established international academic writing standards. Authors are required to use the template without modifying its core structure, as it ensures full compliance with the journal’s formatting and stylistic requirements.

Submissions should follow a clear and structured format, including title, abstract, keywords, and main sections such as introduction, methodology, results, discussion, and conclusion.

References must be formatted according to the IEEE citation style, using numbered in-text citations corresponding to an ordered reference list. All references should be accurate, complete, and include relevant bibliographic information, such as DOI where available.

Plagiarism Policy

JSCAI maintains a strict policy on academic integrity. All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software (e.g., iThenticate, Turnitin). Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% may be rejected or returned to the authors for revision prior to peer review. Authors are responsible for ensuring originality, proper citation, and avoidance of self-plagiarism.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, ensuring impartial evaluation. Each submission is reviewed by at least two independent experts in the relevant field. Reviewers assess originality, methodological soundness, scientific contribution, and overall quality.

Based on reviewer recommendations, editorial decisions are categorized as acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. Authors receiving revision requests are provided with detailed and constructive feedback.

To preserve anonymity, authors must ensure that no identifying information appears in the manuscript during initial submission.

 Editorial Workflow and Timeline

JSCAI follows a structured and transparent editorial workflow:

• Initial editorial screening is conducted within approximately 5 days

• Peer review is completed within approximately 6–10 weeks

• The average time from submission to publication is approximately 120 days

All processes are managed through the official online submission system, ensuring efficiency and transparency.

Open Access Policy

JSCAI operates under a fully open-access model. All published content is freely accessible without subscription or publication fees. Articles are distributed under the  Creative Commons CC BY-NC 4.0 license, allowing non-commercial use with proper attribution. This model supports global dissemination and accessibility of research.

Submission System

All manuscripts must be submitted via the official online platform (DergiPark). The system ensures standardized submission procedures, efficient communication, and transparent tracking of the review process.

Figures and Tables

Figures and tables must be of high quality and prepared in accordance with professional publishing standards. All visual materials should be clearly labeled, properly numbered, and referenced within the text. Captions must be descriptive and informative.

Ethical Standards

JSCAI adheres to the ethical principles established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Authors are expected to comply with the following:

• Submission of original and unpublished work

• Accurate representation of authorship and contributions

• Disclosure of conflicts of interest

• Transparency in funding sources

• Compliance with ethical standards for human and animal research

• Integrity and reliability of data

Any form of plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical conduct will result in rejection or further action in accordance with established ethical guidelines.

DOI and Archiving

Each published article is assigned a DOI through Crossref, ensuring permanent accessibility and citation tracking. All content is securely archived for long-term preservation and indexed in relevant databases.

Author Responsibilities

All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection tools, and submissions exceeding acceptable similarity thresholds may be rejected.

Authorship should accurately reflect individual contributions to the research. All listed authors must have made significant intellectual contributions and approved the final manuscript. Authors are also responsible for ensuring data integrity and must present results honestly and transparently. Underlying data should be retained and made available upon request.

All sources of funding and potential conflicts of interest must be clearly disclosed. Additionally, studies involving human or animal subjects must comply with relevant ethical standards and receive appropriate institutional approvals prior to submission.

Editorial Responsibilities

The editorial board operates with full independence and impartiality, evaluating submissions solely on scientific merit, originality, and relevance. All manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process, ensuring unbiased evaluation.

Editors are responsible for maintaining confidentiality throughout the review process and must avoid any conflicts of interest. In cases where a conflict arises, the manuscript is reassigned to an independent editor. The journal follows established procedures for corrections, retractions, and ethical investigations in accordance with COPE guidelines.

Peer Review Ethics

Allegations of misconduct are handled in accordance with COPE guidelines, and appropriate actions—such as rejection, correction, or retraction—are taken when necessary.

Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

The use of artificial intelligence tools in manuscript preparation is permitted only for language enhancement and editorial assistance. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted content. Any use of AI tools must be transparently disclosed.

Data Availability and Reproducibility

JSCAI supports open science practices and encourages authors to make data, code, and materials publicly available whenever possible. Manuscripts should include a data availability statement describing how supporting data can be accessed.

Authors are expected to provide sufficient methodological detail to ensure reproducibility. Supplementary materials and external repositories may be used to support transparency and data sharing.

Ethics Approval for Human and Animal Research

Research involving human participants or animals must be conducted in accordance with recognized ethical standards. Authors must obtain approval from relevant ethics committees and include appropriate statements in the manuscript. Informed consent must be obtained for studies involving human subjects.
