Abstract
Cumhuriyet’in ilanını müteakiben siyasal, hukuki, iktisadi, kültürel ve çeşitli toplumsal alanlarda “inkılâplar” olarak adlandırılan bir dizi reform gerçekleştirilmiş; bu radikal dönüşümlerin, müesses nizamın temelleri kılınması noktasında otoriter bir devlet politikası izlenmiştir. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin kuruluşu ve haliyle siyasal yapının değişmesiyle birlikte sosyal ve kültürel manada
organik bir değişim/dönüşüm süreci yaşanmamış, gerçekleşmesi istenen değişikliklerin gerektirdikleri, yaşayış tarzına ve daha sonra doğrudan düşünce sistemine entegre edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Devrinin aydınları olarak tebarüz ve temayüz eden edebiyatçılar, gazeteciler
ve siyasetçiler-ki o devirde öne çıkmış çoğu isim bu kimliklerden en az ikisine sahipti- bu yeni bakış açısı ve idrakin ikamesinde kilit konuma yerleştirilmiştir. Bir yandan siyasetçilerin söylemleriyle,
yayımlanan gazetelerdeki yazılarla ve hatta karikatürlerle toplum kurucu kadronun bakış açısıyla karşı karşıya bırakılmış, öbür yandan tiyatro oyunları ve romanlar gibi edebî verimlerle birlikte değişimin halka bakan yönünün pürüzsüz bir şekilde sağlanabileceğine inanılmıştır.
