                                                                                                <abstract><p>Dünya üzerinde hızla artan tüketim alışkanları sonucunda ortaya çıkan atık sorunu,  son yıllarda özellikle küresel bir problem olarak görülmekte ve her canlının hayatını etkilemektedir. Doğada çözülerek kaybolmayan, birikerek ve yayılarak canlı hayatı ile yaşam alanlarını tehdit eden atıkların önlenmesi ve kontrolü için çeşitli aşamalardan oluşan atık yönetimi uygulanmaktadır. Atık yönetiminin aşamalarını sırasıyla; önleme/azaltma, yeniden kullanım, geri dönüşüm, enerji geri kazanımı ve bertaraf oluşturmaktadır. Yapılan çalışma ile atık sorununa mimari anlamda dikkat çekmek ve günümüz yapı sektörüne bu bağlamda öneriler sunmak amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında yurt içinden ve yurt dışından uygulanmış 30 yapı örneği analiz edilmiş, yapı kabuğunda atık malzeme kullanım olanakları ve özellikleri belirtilmiştir. Yapı kabuğunda yeniden kullanım ile yapısal atıkların tekrar kullanımı, geri dönüşüm ile yapısal atıkların dönüşümlerle farklı yapı malzemesine dönüşümü, geri kazanım ile yapısal olmayan atıkların yapı malzemesi olarak kullanımı değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda yapı kabuğunda kullanılan atık malzemelerin, yapı sektöründe kaynak ve enerji tüketimini azaltmaya yönelik katkı sağlayabileceği görülmüş, mevcut yapıların tadilatlarında ve yeni yapılarda, atık malzeme kullanımının büyük bir potansiyeli bulunduğu belirlenmiş, atık malzeme kullanımını arttırmak için sektördeki, üretici, tüketici ve tasarımcıların bu bağlamda bilinçlendirilmesi ve teşvik edilmesinin gerekliliği vurgulanmıştır.</p></abstract>

                            <p>The waste problem that has emerged as a result of rapidly increasing consumption habits in the world has been seen as a global problem in recent years and affects the lives of every living being. In order to prevent and control waste that does not dissolve and disappear in nature but accumulates and spreads and threatens life and living spaces, waste management consisting of various stages is implemented. The stages of waste management are; prevention/reduction, reuse, recycling, energy recovery and disposal. The aim of the study is to draw attention to the waste problem in an architectural sense and to present suggestions to today&#039;s construction sector in this context. Within the scope of the study, 30 construction examples implemented in Turkey and abroad were analyzed, and the possibilities and characteristics of using waste materials in the construction shell were specified. The reuse of structural waste in the construction shell with reuse, the transformation of structural waste into different construction materials with recycling, and the use of non-structural waste as construction material with recycling were evaluated. As a result of the study, it was seen that waste materials used in the building envelope could contribute to reducing resource and energy consumption in the construction sector, it was determined that there is a great potential for the use of waste materials in the renovation of existing buildings and in new buildings, and it was emphasized that producers, consumers and designers in the sector should be made aware of and encouraged in this context in order to increase the use of waste materials.</p></trans-abstract>
