Birçok türde eserler veren Hume, tüm bilimlerin insan doğasıyla az çok bir ilişkisi olduğuna inanmaktaydı. Kariyerine “A Treatise of Human Nature” ile başlayan Hume, insan doğasının psikolojik temellerini inceleyen doğalcı bir insan bilimi oluşturmaya çalışmıştı.

<p>David Hume, a philosopher, historian, and essayist, was one of the most important thinkers of his era and was of Scottish descent. Hume, who produced works in many genres, believed that all sciences had some connection with human nature. Beginning his career with A Treatise of Human Nature, Hume sought to establish a naturalistic science of man by examining the psychological foundations of human nature. Following John Locke, Hume rejected the existence of innate ideas and concluded that all human knowledge stems solely from experience. This positioned him as an empiricist alongside Francis Bacon, Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, and George Berkeley. Drawing inspiration from many thinkers of his time, such as Voltaire in the field of history, Hume broadened his focus from kings, parliaments, and armies to literature and science. In this study, we will address Hume’s ideas, particularly his thoughts on the Turks and Eastern peoples.</p></trans-abstract>
