Günümüzdeki ve gelecekteki kentli nüfus oranı göz önüne alındığında bireylerin temel yaşam alanı olan kentlerin, birçok sorun ve baskı ile –altyapı, konut, çevresel kirlilikler, ulaşım, sosyal hizmetlere erişilebilirlik vb- karşı karşıya olan yaşam alanları olduğu bilinmektedir. Bu doğrultuda kentlerdeki söz konusu sorunları azaltmak adına tüm dünyada kentlerin daha sürdürülebilir ve daha sağlıklı yaşam alanları olması için ekolojik kentler, sağlıklı kentler vb. birçok farklı model ve çözüm önerisi ortaya atılmakta ve uygulanmaktadır. Tüm bunların temelinde kentlerin insanlar için sunmakta olduğu imkân ve hizmetlerin iyileştirilmesi, başka bir deyişle, kentsel yaşam kalitesinin arttırılması hedefi yatmaktadır.Çalışmanın önemi, Uşak’ta halkın kentsel yaşam kalitesini nasıl değerlendirdiğini ölçmeye yönelik başka bir çalışmanın literatürde yer almamış olmasından kaynaklanmaktadır. Çalışmanın temel amacı, Uşak ili merkez ilçesinde –merkez ilçe sınırları dışına çıkılmadan- ikamet etmekte olan kişilerin kentsel yaşam kalitesine yönelik öznel değerlendirmelerini ve genel memnuniyet düzeylerini ölçmektir. Bu amaca yönelik hazırlanan anket, rastgele örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 395 kişi ile uygulanmıştır. Veriler SPSS 28.0 programı ile gerekli testler kullanılarak değerlendirilmiş ve kontrol değişkenlerine göre kentsel yaşam kalitesinin farklı boyutlarına yönelik öznel değerlendirmelerin ve genel memnuniyet düzeylerinin farklılaştığı bulgulanmıştır.
Considering the current and future urban population ratio, it is known that cities, which are the basic living spaces of individuals, are living spaces that face many problems and pressures – infrastructure, housing, environmental pollution, transportation, accessibility to social services. In this direction, many different models and solution proposals such as ecological cities, slow cities, healthy cities are put forward and implemented in order to make cities more sustainable and healthier living spaces all over the world in order to reduce the relevant problems in cities. On the basis of all this lies the goal of improving of the opportunities and services that cities offer to people, in other words, increasing the quality of urban life. The importance of the study results from there is no other study in the literature to measure how people who lives in Uşak evaluate the quality of urban life. The main purpose of the study is to measure the subjective evaluations and overall satisfaction level of people residing in the central district of Uşak- without leaving the borders of the central district- on the urban quality of life. The questionnaire prepared for this purpose was applied to 395 people selected by random sampling method. The data were evaluated using the necessary tests with the SPSS 28.0 program and it has been found that subjective evaluations for different dimensions of urban life quality and overall satisfaction levels differ according to the control variables.
