Doğu Karadeniz Bölgesinde Uyuşturucu Madde Kullanımının Değerlendirilmesi (2010-2013)

Year 2018, Issue: 2, 32 - 36, 30.06.2018

Abstract

Evaluation of Drug Addiction in Eastern Black Sea Region (2010- 2013)

Year 2018, Issue: 2, 32 - 36, 30.06.2018

Abstract

In this study, it was aimed to determine the sociodemographic characteristics, drug-stimulant types detected after CEDIA, GC/MS and LC-MS / MS analysis of blood, urine and hair samples, and the drug usage prevalence of the cases sent by the prosecutor's office and courts due to drug use to the Chemistry Specialization Department of Forensic Medicine, Trabzon Group
Presidency of the Turkish Forensic Medicine Institution in the Eastern Black Sea Region. The records of the cases, sent to the Forensic Medicine Institution Trabzon Group Presidency by the prosecution offices due to drug use, between January 01, 2010 and December 31, 2013 were examined retrospectively. Drugs were detected in 1570 cases. The cases were evaluated according to age, gender, education, occupation, marital status and drug types used. The obtained data were evaluated with SPSS 13.0. In this study, 98.3% of patients who used drugs were male and 1.7% were female. The average age was 29.5 ± 9.2 for men and 24.5 ± 8.3 for women. Significant increases in substance use were observed in the 15-24 and 25-34 age groups of cases. Among the drug users, unemployed (n = 500) and workers (n = 523) were the majority. Cannabis use was the most common. Combating addictive substances and drug use is a priority problem pending today. This study, in accordance with the literature, shows that substance use is a serious problem affecting especially the young population. The problem, because of its nature, requires a multilateral and coordinated struggle.
