KADINLARIN BENLİK SAYGISINI VE YAŞAM DOYUMUNU ARTIRMA: BİLİŞSEL DAVRANIŞÇI YAKLAŞIMA DAYALI BİR GRUP MÜDAHALESİ

Year 2016, Volume: 24 Issue: 2, 479 - 492, 15.07.2016

Abstract

Year 2016, Volume: 24 Issue: 2, 479 - 492, 15.07.2016

Abstract

In this study, psycho-education program based on cognitive behavioral approach was developed for women who applied to Bornova Municipal Women Counseling Center to increase self-esteem and life satisfaction. The program was carried out 2,5 hour weekly, 17 sessions. Of three separate group, a total of 54 women completed psycho-education program. In this study, The quasi-experimental design with a pretest posttest was used. Participants were given Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale (RSES) and The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) as a pretest. After the application of the psycho-education program, participants were given the same scales again as posttest. The data obtained from both the pretest and posttest were analyzed with t-test for paired sample. The results of analysis indicated psycho-education program based on cognitive behavioral approach is effective because of increasing women’s self-esteem and life satisfaction. Psycho-education program that was developed within study is the first program implemented in KDM in Turkey and it is important in terms of modeling for other programs that will be developed in field.
