Collective paranoia, with its social, political and cultural structure, is recognised as a phenomenon that can affect the individual in his/her relationship with the society and even in his/her solitude. Contrary to popular belief, it is not the sum total of the personal paranoia of the individuals who build society. It is a phenomenon that arises from the reflections of the hegemon, power or authority in the social sphere, and is even multiplied and strengthened through the small authorities that give rise to these reflections. The results can be summarised as a society that does not feel safe even in its most private space, its home. In the 2023 film In The Blind Spot, directed by Ayşe Polat, collective paranoia is treated as a phenomenon triggered by the destruction of collective memory. The aim of this study is to reveal the sociological and psychoanalytic origins of collective paranoia in this film. In the study, sociological analysis method was used for the collective dimension of paranoia and psychoanalytic analysis method was used for the individual dimension. For this reason, a sociopsychoanalytical approach was preferred for the methodology of the study. As a result of the analysis of the film, it is understood that the control and surveillance mechanisms carried out through small authorities are as effective in the formation of collective paranoia as the pressure on social memory. In line with this result; it is thought that the collective paranoia, whose characteristics such as uncertainty and not trusting anyone, can be observed not only in the film that is the subject of the study, but also in many works of art.
Kolektif paranoya, sosyal, siyasal ve kültürel yapısıyla bireyi, toplumla kurduğu ilişkide ve kendi yalnızlığında bile etkisi altına alabilen bir fenomen olarak kabul edilmektedir. Sanılanın aksine toplumu oluşturan bireylerin kişisel paranoyalarının toplamı değildir. Egemenin, iktidarın ya da otoritenin toplumsal alana yansımalarından doğan hatta bu yansımaları doğuran küçük otoriteler aracılığıyla çoğaltılan ve güçlenen bir olgudur. Sonuçları ise kendini, en özel alanı olan evinde dahi güvende hissetmeyen bir toplum olarak özetlenebilir. Yönetmenliğini Ayşe Polat’ın yaptığı 2023 yapımı Kör Noktada filminde ise kolektif paranoya, toplumsal hafızanın yok edilmesiyle tetiklenen bir fenomen olarak işlenmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı da bu film özelinde, kolektif paranoyanın sosyolojik ve psikanaltik kökenlerini ortaya koymaya çalışmaktır. Çalışmada paranoyanın kolektif boyutu için sosyolojik, bireysel boyutu için ise psikanalitik çözümleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Bu nedenle çalışmanın yöntemi için sosyopsikanalitik bir yaklaşım ifadesi tercih edilmiştir. Filmin analizi sonucunda, toplumsal hafıza üzerinde kurulan baskı kadar küçük otoriteler aracılığıyla yürütülen denetim ve gözetim mekanizmalarının da kolektif paranoyanın oluşmasında etkili olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Bu sonuç doğrultusunda; belirsizlik ve kimseye güvenmeme gibi karakteristikleri ön plana çıkan kolektif paranoyanın, sadece çalışmaya konu olan film özelinde değil, pek çok sanat eserinde gözlemlenebileceği düşünülmektedir.
