                                                                                                                        <abstract><p>Amaç: Bu çalışmada kişilerin, herhangi bir yakınmaları olduğunda kime başvurdukları, hekime ne zaman ve hangi sorunları için başvurdukları, hekime gitmiyorlarsa ne yaptıkları ve aile tedavisi kullanıyorlarsa, bunların neler olduğu ve niçin kullandıklarının araştırılması amaçlandı. Metod: Çalışmaya birinci basamak sağlık kurumlarına başvuran 20 kadın, 9 erkek toplam 29 hasta alındı. Anket soruları, yüz yüze görüşme tekniği ile uygulandı. Analizler 29 hasta üzerinden yapıldı. Bu çalışmada kişilere, yakınmaları olduğunda ilk önce kime başvurdukları, hekime ne zaman ve hangi sorunlarında başvurdukları, hekime gitmiyorlarsa ne yaptıkları ve aile tedavisi kullanıyorlarsa bunların neler olduğu ve niçin bunları kullandıklarını, sorgulayan bir anket uygulandı. Bulgular: Katılımcıların yaş gruplarına göre dağılımında %10.3’ü (üç erkek) 18-25 yaş arası grupta, %13.7’si (iki kadın iki erkek) 26-35 yaş arası grupta, %24.1’i (yedi erkek) 36-45 yaş arası grupta, %27.5’i (üç erkek, beş kadın) 46-55 yaş arası grupta, %20.6’sı (dört erkek, iki kadın) 56-65 yaş arası grupta ve %3.4’ü (bir erkek) 66 yaş üzeri gruptaydı. Eğitim düzeylerine bakıldığında katılımcıların %13.7’si (n=4) ilkokulu bitirmemişti. %51.7’si (n=15) ilkokul, %13.7’si (n=4) ortaokul, %17.2’si (n=5) lise ve %3.4’ü (n=1) üniversite mezunuydu. Katılımcıların büyük çoğunluğu (%86.3) sadece hekimlerinin önerilerini uygulamadıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Hekimlerin önerilerini uygulayıp uygulamamada kadın ve erkekler arasında anlamlı bir fark yoktur (p=0.636). Sadece hekimlerinin önerilerini uygulamayan katılımcıların %34.4’ü aile tedavisi uyguladıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Aile tedavisi uygulamada kadın ve erkekler arasında anlamlı fark yoktur (p=0.661). Sonuç: Tamamlayıcı ve Alternatif Tıp (TAT) kullanan hastaların %52’sinin bunu AH’ine bildirmediklerini ve geleneksel tedavi kullananların %50’sinin aynı zamanda TAT’da kullandığını göstermektedir</p></abstract>
