                                                                                                <abstract><p>Günümüz dünyasında artan ve sürekli hızlanan ulaşım ve iletişim teknolojilerinin de etkisiyle farklı coğrafyalarda, farklı ülkelerde yaşayan insanlar arasındaki etkileşimler de artmıştır. Farklı kültürler arasında diyalog ve uzlaşma geçmiştekinden daha önemli hale gelmiştir. Bu durum da farklı kültürlerden gelen kişiler arasında bilgi, düşünce ve duyguların paylaşılmasına imkân veren kültürlerarası iletişim kavramını öne çıkarmaktadır. Bu süreçte kütüphaneler yalnızca bilgi merkezi olarak kaynak sağlamakla kalmaz; aynı zamanda bireylerin ve toplulukların birbirleriyle etkileşimini artıran sosyal alanlar olarak da işlev görmektedirler. Hem insanları hem de kültürleri birbirine bağlayarak kültürlerarası etkileşimi artıran empatinin geliştirilmesi ve bireylere kazandırılması açısından, kütüphaneler gerçekleştirilen çeşitli etkinliklerle çok yönlü bir rol oynayabilir. Etkinlik esaslı eğitim yollarından biri de İnsan Kütüphanesi’dir. Karşılıklı anlayışı teşvik etme amacıyla 2000’li yılların başında başlatılan bu hareket, insanların gündelik yaşamları içinde çok fazla karşılaşma ihtimali olmayan ancak genel itibariyle önyargılı yaklaştıkları çeşitli gruplardan bireylerin İnsan Kitap olarak kendi deneyimini katılımcılarla paylaşmasına dayanmaktadır. İki taraflı bir etkileşime imkân tanıyan İnsan Kütüphanesi, diyalog yoluyla karşıdakini tanıma ve böylece kendinden farklı olanı anlamayı kolaylaştırır. İnsan Kütüphanesi, küreselleşen dünyada farklılıkları uzlaştırmak adına olumlu katkıda bulunabilir. Çalışmanın insan kütüphanesi anlayışını geliştirerek yeni nesil kütüphaneciliğe farklı bir boyuttan katkıda bulunacağı düşünülmektedir.</p></abstract>

                            <p>In today’s world, with the effect of increasing and constantly accelerating transportation and communication technologies, the interactions between people living in different geographies and countries have also increased. Dialogue and consensus between different cultures have become more important than in the past. This situation highlights the concept of intercultural communication, which allows for the sharing of information, thoughts and feelings between people from different cultures. In this process, libraries not only provide resources as information centers, but also perform as social spaces that increase the interaction of individuals and communities with each other. In terms of developing and imparting empathy, which increases intercultural interaction by connecting both people and cultures, libraries can play a multifaceted role with various activities. One of the activity-based education methods is the Human Library. This movement, which was initiated in the early 2000s with the aim of encouraging mutual understanding, is based on individuals from various groups that people are unlikely to encounter in their daily lives but generally approach with prejudice, sharing their own experiences with participants as Human Books. The Human Library, which allows for two-way interaction, facilitates getting to know the other person through dialogue and thus understanding the different person from oneself. The Human Library can make a positive contribution to reconciling differences in a globalizing world. It is thought that the study will contribute to the new generation of librarianship from a different dimension by improving the understanding of the human library.</p></trans-abstract>
