Testing of Morrell and Man’s Method in Design of Cement Grinding Circuits with the Aid of Modelling

Abstract

In this study, a scale-up method is proposed for dry multi-compartment ball mills used in cement
industry.The method is based on Morrell and Man’s approach (1997) which uses the model parameters
obtained from Bond grindability test. This approach was tested by using the data obtained from eight
cement grinding circuits operating in five different plants. Although Morrell and Man’s approach has
been verified for wet grinding circuits, it was concluded that it is insufficient for cement grinding circuits.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, çimento öğütmede kullanılan kuru kamaralı değirmenler için, Bond öğütülebilirlik testi
sonuçlarını kullanan Morrell ve Man (1997) yaklaşımını temel alan bir ölçek büyütme yöntemi
önerilmektedir. Yaklaşım, çalışmakta olan 5 farklı tesisteki sekiz öğütme devresinden alınan verilerle
sınanmıştır. Morrell Man (1997) yaklaşımının yaş öğütme devreleri için doğrulanmış olmasına karşın
çimento öğütme devrelerinde yetersiz kaldığı sonucuna varılmıştır.
