The purpose of this research is to determine the frequency of analytical thinking
practised by academics at Marmara University, Technical Faculty of Education. Relation
Scanning method was used in the study. A questionnaire developed by the reseacher was used
as a data collection tool. 225 students from Technical Facutly of Education, who were chosen
randomly, constitute the sample gorup. It was found at the end of the study that academics do
not use analytical thinking much in their lessons. Recommendations were made related to the
subject matter.
