Bu araştırma, özel gereksinimli üniversite öğrencilerinin mekânsal erişilebilirlikle ilgili yaşadıkları sorunları belirlemeyi ve bu sorunlara yönelik çözüm önerileri sunmayı amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma, Türkiye'nin İç Anadolu Bölgesi'nde bulunan bir üniversitede öğrenim gören sekiz özel gereksinimli öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme teknikleri kullanılarak toplanmış ve nitel araştırma paradigması çerçevesinde analiz edilmiştir. Öğrencilerin belirttiği başlıca sorunlar arasında kampüs girişlerinde yaşanan fiziksel engeller, yetersiz yönlendirme tabelaları, asansör ve rampaların eksikliği, kütüphane ve yemekhaneye erişimde karşılaşılan zorluklar ve hijyen problemleri yer almaktadır. Bu sorunlar, öğrencilerin akademik başarılarını ve kampüs yaşamına katılımlarını olumsuz yönde etkilemektedir. Araştırmanın bulguları, üniversite yönetimleri için yol gösterici nitelikte olup, kampüs içi fiziksel düzenlemeler, yönlendirme sistemlerinin iyileştirilmesi ve yardımcı personel desteğinin artırılması gibi çözüm önerileri sunmaktadır. Bu öneriler, özel gereksinimli öğrencilerin eğitim süreçlerine daha etkin bir şekilde katılımını sağlamayı ve eğitim hayatlarını daha erişilebilir hale getirmeyi hedeflemektedir.
This study aims to identify the problems faced by university students with special needs in relation to spatial accessibility and to propose solutions for these issues. The research was conducted with eight special needs students studying at a university in the Central Anatolia Region of Turkey. Data were collected using semi-structured interview techniques and analyzed within the framework of qualitative research paradigms. The main problems highlighted by the students include physical barriers at campus entrances, insufficient signage, lack of elevators and ramps, difficulties in accessing the library and cafeteria, and hygiene issues. These problems negatively impact the students' academic performance and participation in campus life. The findings of the research provide guidance for university administrations and offer solutions such as improving campus physical arrangements, enhancing signage systems, and increasing support from auxiliary staff. These recommendations aim to enable more effective participation of students with special needs in their educational processes and to make their educational experiences more accessible.
