                                                                                                <abstract><p>Öğrencilerin kavramları kendi yaşantılarıyla ilişkilendirememeleri ve bununsonucunda ortaya çıkan alternatif kavramalar, derse karşı motivasyonsuzluk veakademik başarısızlık bilim insanlarını bağlam temelli öğrenme yaklaşımınayönlendirmiştir. Bağlam temelli öğrenme yaklaşımına göre öğrencilerin gerçekyaşam konuları ile fen arasındaki ilişkiyi farkına varmalarını sağlamakgerekmektedir. Her basamağında bağlamsal öğrenmeyi ön planda tutan REACTstratejisi ise bağlam temelli öğrenme yaklaşımını, öğretim uygulamalarınayansıtmaya çalışan bir uygulama yöntemidir. Bu araştırma, REACT stratejisineyönelik geliştirilen öğretim materyallerinin öğrencilerin “maddenin tanecikliyapısı&quot; konusu ile bağlamları ilişkilendirmeleri üzerine etkisiniincelenmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırma deneysel araştırma yönteminin ön test -son test kontrol gruplu deseni ile yürütülmüştür. Deney grubu 50, kontrol grubu51 olmak üzere 101, 6. sınıf öğrencisi araştırmaya katılmıştır. Geliştirilenöğretim materyali animasyonlardan, çalışma yapraklarından ve örnek olaylardanoluşmaktadır. Öğretim materyali &quot;sıcak hava balonu ve çalışmaprensibi&quot; ana bağlamı çerçevesinde her basamağında bağlamsal öğrenmenin önplanda tutulduğu REACT stratejisine göre geliştirilmiştir. Veriler açık uçlusorulardan oluşan bağlam testi ve yarı yapılandırılmış mülakat sorularıylatoplanmıştır. Bağlam testi ön, son ve gecikmiş test olarak, mülakatlar ise önve son mülakat olarak uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular deney grubundayürütülen öğretim materyalinin kontrol grubunda yürütülen öğretim materyalinegöre daha etkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Araştırma sonucu öğrencilerin günlükhayatlarında karşılaştıkları bağlamları tanecik boyutunda değil daha çokmakroskobik boyutta ilişkilendirme (kısmi ilişkilendirme) yapabildiklerinigöstermektedir.</p></abstract>
