<p>AbstractThe Use of Digital EEG Analysis in Clinical Assessment of Children with Tic Disorder Objective: In this study, it was aimed to determine if the use of digital EEG analysis has a significant asset to clinical assessment of the children diagnosed with tic disorder. Method: The study groups were composed of 25 children diagnosed with tic disorder according to DSM-IV and 21 age-sex matched control subjects. EEG recordings were taken both in study and control subjects during rest and hyperventilation, and then, these recordings were assessed by using both visual and digital EEG methods. Result: No abnormality was detected in the electrical activity of the brain based on the visual assesment of EEG recordings. In digital EEG analysis, it was determined that teta activity significantly decreased in patient group during rest (p&amp;amp;lt;0.05) and hyperventilation (p&amp;amp;lt;0.05), whereas beta activity significantly increased (p&amp;amp;lt;0.05). Conclusion: These findings suggest that digital EEG analysis can be performed as a useful method providing objective, physiologically based data in the clinical assesment of the children with tic disorder and hence, contribute to the understanding neurobiological basis of the disease.</p></trans-abstract>

Yöntem: Çalışma grupları DSM-IV-TR\&amp;apos;a (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders) göre tik bozukluğu tanısı alan 25 çocuk ve yaş-cins uyumlu 21 kontrolden oluşturulmuştur.
