Aim: Vaccination is one of the most important achievements of public health as an effective, cost-effective and accepted method in reducing the mortality and morbidity of various infectious diseases. The World Health Organization has reported that global immunization prevents 2-3 million deaths annually, which is an indication of how important vaccination is for public health. The low incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases as a result of the vaccine's own success may lead to the public forgetting the benefits of the vaccine. Maintaining the benefits of the vaccine is more important than achieving these goals. For a healthy life, vaccination is a tool that helps the individual to maintain his/her health not only in infancy and childhood, but throughout his/her whole life. Although the Extended Immunization Program has been implemented successfully for childhood in Türkiye, the targeted rates for adult immunization have not been reached. The increase in the average life expectancy and the elderly population has increased the importance of adult immunization. In this review; it was aimed to emphasize the importance of vaccination at all ages in the goal of health for all.
